• This item was woven in West Bengal from Madur Kathi - a thin reed - and cotton thread. We sourced it from a non-profit marketing group that works with the Child and Social Welfare Society to develop and promote the work of the weavers. The work provides extra income and medical care for the (mostly) women workers and reduces the reliance on farming in this flood prone region.
