• This item was hand made by villagers in Dong Thap province, Vietnam. Collecting, drying and weaving the water hyacinth provides extra income for their farming community and also benefits the environment. Left to grow unchecked, water hyacinth clogs the waterways, restricting the movement of sediment and impeding aquatic life.
